Mars has revived the long-running Yonge and Queen holiday windows with a free, seven-window takeover called Wonders of Mars. The installation opened this season at 176 Yonge Street and will remain on display through January 2, 2026.
The colourful, family-friendly display connects each window with a playful pipe system that follows a cast of elves as they deliver supplies, make candy, play under the northern lights and finish the day with a shared meal.

What to expect

Wonders of Mars is built as a continuous narrative. Visitors can follow pipes and animations from one scene to the next, moving from oversized gum bubbles to a candy factory and into a snowy tableau. The display mixes physical set pieces with animated elements, including a clock sequence that freezes and then restarts to reveal new motion.

Window highlights

  • Hubba Bubba bubbles transporting supplies toward the candy factory.
  • A Mars Bars production scene showing confectionery being crafted.
  • Skittlesland, featuring the upcoming Skittles Pop'd product, with a clock animation that freezes and then bursts back to life.
  • Excel Winter Wonderland, with sledding, gum snow forts and northern lights-style lighting.
  • A closing scene of elves gathered around a dinner table with their furry companions, marking the end of the day.

How the reveal unfolded

Teaser vinyl wraps appeared on the windows while the installation was being built, creating curiosity along the block. Some locals noticed a subtle Mars 'M' in the designs and pieced together the takeover before the official reveal.

We wanted to bring a sense of wonder back to a much-loved downtown tradition, with playful storytelling and inclusive scenes for families and neighbourhood visitors,
